Rocky Patel Royale Toro

Today we have the Rocky Patel Royale in Toro.  This cigar is slightly box pressed and has a chocolate brown wrapper with invisible veins and slightly visible seems.  It comes in at 6 1/2 X 54.  At first light the draw is a bit snug but is producing tons of smoke! flavors on the draw are a black pepper tingle sensation that's fairly intense, especially through the nose and a slight bit of black pepper flavor.  Also, on the draw is a creamy earth.  The finish is the black pepper flavor and sensation with a creamy earth and cedar that finishes out the flavors.  The flavors stay on the palate till the next draw and is at a medium body.  The burn through the first inch is near razor sharp.

One inch down and some flavor changes have begun.  The draw is still slightly snug but producing a large amount of smoke.  The draw flavors have dropped off the black pepper tingle sensation but still has a little bit of black pepper flavor.  The earthiness is also still present on the draw and it has a creamy texture to it. The finish starts off with a creamy earthiness that changes to a slight coco every few puffs.  A sweet cedar comes in just after the creamy earthiness/coco notes.  The body is still at a medium. The burn is still staying even and construction couldn't be better.

The flavor stay near the same till there is just about 3 1/2 inches left.  The draw has now opened up a little bit and is now near perfect.  Its now producing even larger amounts of smoke.  The black pepper flavor and tingle sensation has started to creep its way back.  The finish still has faint notes of earth and coco.  Every few puffs a sweet cedar and raisin note comes in at the tail end of the finish accompanied by a tangy leather note.  The body is now at it's fullest point at a medium to full.  The burn line is still excellent and has presented no issues all the way through the experience.

With just over an inch and a half left the cigar starts to get warm.  The flavors are a black pepper tingle sensation with a tangy leather and some chard tobacco flavor.  I sat the cigar down in the ashtray for the last time at the 1 hour and 18 minute mark.  This is a very enjoyable cigar that I highly recommend.  By far this is Rocky's greatest creation, in my opinion.

Arturo Fuente Casa Cuba Doble Cinco

Today we have the Arturo Fuente Casa Cuba Doble Cinco.  This cigar won the poll for which cigar i should review next. This light brown cigar has slightly visible veins and seems.  It comes in at 5 X 50.  At first light the draw has a creamy textured cedar note accompanied by some smooth black pepper flavor and tingle sensation.  The finish is short and has the same flavor notes as the draw.  The flavors are not lasting very long on the finish and the smoke is at a mild to medium body.  The draw is near perfect with just the right amount of resistance.  The burn and construction through the first inch is flawless.

Just over and inch down and some slight changes start to happen.  The draw still has the creamy textured cedar note with the black pepper flavor and tingle sensation.  The finish has a creamy textured cedar and sweetness accompanied by a sharp leather that is the flavor that's left on the palate till the next draw.  The body is now at a solid medium.  The draw and burn are still near perfect.

With just over an inch left the cigar is starting to get warm.  Most of the flavors have been washed out by a chard tobacco and pepper tingle sensation.  I sat the cigar down for the last time at the one 1 hour and 10 minute mark.  This cigar didn't have a lot of complexity but the flavors were very creamy and smooth and very relaxing.  Overall, this was a very good cigar!
