Emilio Cigars La Musa Melete Lancero

This afternoon we have the Emilio Cigars La Musa Melete Lancero.  This cigar has a medium brown outer wrapper and a pig tail cap. It has visible veins the entire length of the cigar and has invisible seems.  It comes in at 7 X 40.  After lighting, the draw is perfect with just the right amount of resistance and is producing large amounts of smoke.  The draw flavors are a sweet tobacco with a creamy textured cedar followed by a black pepper note and a mild tingle sensation.  The finish continues the sweetness and is accompanied by a gritty earthiness.  The finish flavors stay on the palate till the next draw and are at a medium body.  The burn through the first third was flawless.  The ash has a toothy appearance and is dark gray in color.

Two inches down and more flavors are starting to mix in. The draw flavor now has a creamy leather with a sweet tobacco note, accompanied by the slight pepper flavor and mild tingle sensation.  The finish still has the earthiness and sweet creamy flavor one draw, and the next a nice caramel note comes in a dominates the palate till the next draw.  The flavors are complex and there is a lot going on during the finish.  Every other draw the cigar will have the earth and leather, and completely switch back to the caramel note.  Also, a yeast and bread note comes in and out on the finish as well. The flavors remain to be medium in body. The cigar is smoking perfectly, keeping an excellent draw with large smoke out put and a flawless burn line.

Four inches in and everything has stayed consistent with the last update.  The only difference is the finish has become more rich and complex.  It has added in a light coffee note at the tail end of each draw.  The cigar is still preforming perfectly dropping off the ash every inch and a half or so. The flavors have been climbing up to a medium to full body since the last update. The burn and draw have still been perfect and construction has not been a problem throughout the smoking experience.

With just about an inch and a half left, the leather note and pepper flavor and tingle sensation are all that remain after taking a draw. The finish is a leather and earth with a chard nuttiness.  I sat the cigar down for the last time at the 1 hour and 40 minute mark.  This cigar provided me with an awesome smoking experience that was laid back and relaxing.  I never had to baby the cigar, I just sat back and relaxed!

Emilio Cigars Mia Dora Robusto

Tonight we have the Emilio Cigars Mia Dora Robusto.  It has a medium tan wrapper nearly flawless in appearance.  It has no visible seems or veins and come in a 5 X 50.  First light reveals a perfect draw with just the right amount of resistance.  The draw flavors have a spiciness to it.  It has a peppery flavor and slight tingle sensation followed by a natural sweet tobacco and cedar.  The finish continues the spice/pepper flavor and tingle and is rounded out with a smooth creamy cedar.  The flavor stay on the palate till the next draw and currently the cigar is at a medium body.  The burn is razor sharp and the construction through the first inch has been excellent.

Two inches in and the ash is still holding on strong!  The draw flavors remain consistent with the spicy/pepper note and a sweet tobacco.  The finish also continues the spicy pepper notes but adds in a baking spice near the end of the finish.  The baking spice stays on the palate the longest and the flavors are still holding strong at a medium body.  The draw remains perfect as did the burn line.  Construction has been excellent.

With just over two inches left the baking spice has taken over the flavors on the draw and finish with the sweet creamy cedar coming in and out between draws.  A few more puffs and a caramel note comes in on the draw and mixes well with the baking spice on the finish.  The cigar is however starting to get a little warm and  is slightly mushy.  I sat the cigar down for the last time at the 58 minute mark.  Overall, this was a tasty laid back easy going cigar. The body never left a medium and no strength every came in. It was easy to enjoy and easy to pick out the flavors.  I definitely will be picking up more of these!

Oliva Serie V Melanio Maduro Robusto

Tonight we have the Oliva Serie V Melanio Maduro Robusto.  This cigar has a dark brown maduro wrapper with a few white water spots spread throughout. It has no visible veins and slightly visible seams.  it comes in at 5 X 52.  After lighting, the draw is slightly snug but is producing good smoke output.  On the draw there is some slight black pepper flavor and tingle sensation on the palate.  The finish has a semi sweet cedar and earthiness.  The flavors stay on the palate till the next draw and are at a medium in body.  The burn is line is even and construction has be perfect starting off.

One inch down and the draw has opened up slightly.  The flavors remain the exact same on the draw.  The finish has completely morphed into a mocha and earth with a black pepper flavor in the background.  The mocha is the dominant flavor.  It is sweet and smooth and leaves a silky coating on the palate.  I can not remember a smoking experience where an obvious mocha note dominated the palate as much as the cigar is doing.  The burn has evened out and is now preforming normally.  The flavors stay on the palate long into the next draw and have started to ramp up to a medium to full.

With just one inch left, the draw flavors have stayed the same throughout the smoking experience.  The mocha is still dominating the finish.  It is still sweet, smooth, and silky.  The cigar however is starting to get a little warm and mushy and the smoke is getting a little hot on the palate.  I put the cigar down for the last time at the 1 hour and 9 minute mark.  Overall, I felt the flavors of this cigar were not as complex as I was expecting them to be, however the flavors were desert like and tasty.

Tatuaje Havana VI Nobles

Today we have the Tatuaje Havana VI Nobles. This cigar comes in at 5 X 50 and has a very oily dark brown wrapper.  The outer wrapper has a few visible veins running the entire length of the cigar and invisible seems.  At first light the draw is excellent, producing large amounts of smoke out put with minimal effort.  On the draw there is a nice naturally sweet tobacco and earthy flavors with some black pepper flavor and tingle sensation on the palate.  The finish is the same as the draw but more intense.  The sweet tobacco and earth take over near the end of the finish and the black pepper fades to the background.  The body is at a mild to medium and the flavors leave the palate fairly quickly.  The burn is razor sharp and construction has been flawless through the first inch.

Two inches down and the ash just fell off. The draw is still producing large amounts of smoke. The draw flavors remain the same as the first update.  The finish is the exact same as well, only now a sweet coco comes in at the tail end.  The flavors are staying on the palate longer as well and is up to a medium in body.  The flavors are very desert like and are very rich.  The burn has stayed even and the construction remains excellent.

With just under two inches to go, the flavors have shifted to warm chard tobacco with a slight leathery finish.  I sat the cigar down for the last time at the 54 minute mark.  This cigar has been a go to choice for me lately.  In part because its a quick smoke for me here in Illinois, where the temperatures have been around 10 degrees all winter long.  I do enjoy the rich desert like flavors as well and have gone through almost a entire box of these this winter.

Nomad S-307 Robusto

Today we have the Nomad S-307 in robusto.  This cigar has a dark brown wrapper and is tightly boxed pressed.  It has invisible seems and no visible veins.  The cigar is flawless in appearance and looks very well made. It comes in at 5 X 50.  After lighting, the draw is perfect, producing large amounts of smoke.  The draw flavors are a big blast of black pepper flavor and tingle sensation.  The finish has a creamy cedar and more black pepper. The burn is razor sharp.  The body is at a medium and the flavors fade off the palate before the next draw.

One inch down and the cigar is still pumping out black pepper flavor and tingle sensation on the draw. The pepper through the retro-hale is extremely intense making my eye's water slightly. The finish now has the sweet creamy cedar that is leaving a coating in the mouth and is very smooth.  Shortly after the pepper tingle leaves a earthy flavor takes over the remainder of the finish.  The cigar is still burning perfectly and holding on to its ash nicely.  The body is at a medium and the finish still fades away before the next draw.

Two inches down and the ash is still holding on firmly! The draw continues to be perfect and is producing even larger amounts of smoke than before.  The draw flavors continue to pump out the black pepper.  The finish starts off with the black pepper, then to the earthy note, and is now being finished off by a sweet creamy leather.  Every now and then a almond note will come in between the pepper and the earth but usually fades quickly.  The body is now at a medium to full and some strength is starting to come into play.  The strength however is at a mild to medium just giving me a slight buzz.  The burn is still razor sharp and construction has been excellent.

With just over two inches left the flavors transition slightly on the finish.  The black pepper flavor and tingle still dominate the draw but is now being accompanied by a nuttiness.  The finish has the earth and leather and every few draws a slightly bitter bakers chocolate note comes in.  The bakers chocolate is faint, but present, and fades fairly quick as did the almond note in the last inch.  Burn and draw are still perfect and the body is still at a medium to full keeping the flavors on the palate long until the next draw.

With just over an inch and a half left, the cigar starts to get warm and slightly mushy.  A chard tobacco and black pepper flavor and tingle are all the remain on the palate.  I sat the cigar down for the last time at the 1 hour and 8 minute mark.  This cigar was very good and had a nice amount of flavor and complexity.  If you like peppery notes this cigar would be a favorite for you in my opinion.
