Today we have the Ave Maria Clermont. This is a Cigars International exclusive cigar. It has a medium brown wrapper with a invisible seems and no visible veins. It comes in at 5 1/2 X 45. At first light the draw is perfect, producing huge amount of smoke with just the right bit of resistance. The draw flavors are a sweet cedar and black pepper flavor and zing. The finish is sweet cedar mixed with a citrus and black pepper flavor with the zing giving a pepper tingle sensation on the end of the finish. The flavors leave the palate fairly quickly through the first third and is at a medium body. The burn is slightly wavy but burning nicely.
Two inches down and the draw remains perfect. The draw still has a sweet cedar and black pepper flavor and tingle sensation. The finish starts off with the sweet cedar that transitions into a raisin note. A leather coats the palate along with the black pepper flavor and tingle sensation to end the flavors on the finish. The finish flavors are starting to last on the palate longer. The body is at a medium to full. The burn has evened out and is near razor sharp.
Three inches down and the draw continues to produce large amounts of smoke. The draw flavors remain the same as the last update as do the finish flavors. The only difference now is the citrus is back coming in right after the sweet cedar and raisin. The flavors are also starting to get creamy in the mouth leaving a nice coating on the palate. The flavors are still at a medium to full in body and the burn continues to chug along nicely.
With two inches left the cigar draw and finish flavors are starting to get warm. A chard tobacco and nutty flavor are coming in and dominates all the draw and finish flavors. I sat the cigar down for the last time at the 52 minute mark. This cigar was very tasty and produced some fairly complex flavors. I will definitely be buying more.
