Montecristo Nicarauga Toro

Today we have the Montecristo Nicaragua Toro.  This cigar has a medium brown wrapper with no visible veins or seems.  It comes in at 6 X 54.  After light, the draw has the perfect amount of resistance and his giving off tons of smoke.  The draw flavors some earth with black pepper spice and a slight bitterness.  The retro-hale continues the earthiness and adds in some sweet natural tobacco notes.  The finish reminds of a typical Connecticut type cigar, with earthiness and sweetness.  The body is at a mild to medium.  The burn through the first half inch is razor sharp.

Just over on inch down the cigar and some flavor changes occurred.  The draw continues the sweet earth and black pepper.  The finish see's the sweetness ramp up slightly, a nice caramel note is now the dominating flavor on the finish.  Every few puffs on the draw some cedar and cashew flavors are present and they usually tail off when the caramel note starts on the finish.  The burn and draw remain excellent.  The body is now at a solid medium

Four inches down and a slight flavor change has happened.  All the draw and finish flavors remain but are now accompanied by a zingy leather note.  Every now and then it will take over the caramel as the dominant note on the finish.  Also, every now and then a light roasted coffee note comes in and out right before the caramel comes in on the finish but usually fades quickly.  The burn and draw are still perfect.  The body is still at a medium but is stating to ramp up to a full body.

With just over an inch left the cigar got to warm and mushy and the flavors started getting washed out by a chard tobacco note.  Final smoke time was 1 hour and 28 minutes.  Overall this cigar had nice tasty flavors and PERFECT construction.  The flavors were not overly complex however and never really got over a medium body.  I really enjoyed the cigar and will be looking for more to purchase in the very near future!
