Curivari Buenaventura BV500

Today we have the Curivari Buenaventura BV500.  This cigar has a light brown wrapper with invisible veins and seems.  It is trunk pressed and comes in a 5 1/4 X 50.   After lighting the draw is a little snug and smoke production is at a minimum.  The draw has a slight black pepper flavor and tingle sensation and a little bit of earthiness.  The finish has a more earth and a smooth cedar note with some black pepper flavor at the tail end.  The burn through the first inch is wavy but not an issue.  The flavors last on the palate till the next draw and are at a mild to medium in body.

Around the two inch mark some major flavor shifts occur on the finish.  The draw has finally opened up and is now producing adequate smoke output. The draw has a creamy smooth earthiness with some black pepper flavor and tingle sensation.  The finish has a creamy and smooth earth with a nougat and graham flavor.  The finish flavors are extremely silky and leaving a oily slick in the mouth.  Near the end of the finish a nice coco comes in and complements the nougat and graham flavors.  The body is at a solid medium and the burn has evened out considerably.

Two and a half inches down and the cigar has stayed the same as far as the draw and finish flavors are concerned.  The body remains a medium.  The draw is still putting off good smoke out put and the burn line has stayed even since the last update.  The flavors are remaining consistent but that is fine by me.

With just over an inch remaining the cigar has become warm and mushy.  The flavors have been washed out by a chard tobacco and black pepper tingle sensation.  I sat the cigar down for the last time at the 1 hour and 12 minute mark.  Overall for the price, this may be one of the most flavorful cigars I have had for under five dollars.
