Alec Bradley Magic Toast Robusto

Today we have the Alec Bradley Magic Toast in robusto.  This cigar has a dark brown slightly oily wrapper.  It has a few veins and invisible seems.  It comes in at 5 X 52.  After lighting the draw is slightly snug but produced adequate smoke output.  The draw flavors are some black pepper, fairly intense on the retro hale.  The finish continues the black pepper.  Some baking spices, particularly cinnamon is starting to come in as well.  A few puffs later and some roasted coffee notes started to mix well with the cinnamon on the finish.  The body is at a solid medium.  The burn through the first inch and a half was wavy and did require on touch up.

Just over two inches down and the cinnamon now accompanies the black pepper on the draw and retro-hale.  The finish continues with the black pepper, cinnamon, and roasted coffee.  Sometimes a leather note will come in at the tail end of the finish but fade quickly.  Overall a sweet generic dark noted tobacco is starting to dominate all the finish nuances and stays on the palate till the next draw.  The body is still at a medium but is approaching full, but never quite gets there.  The burn was constantly wavy but only required one more touch up.

With just over an inch left I sat the cigar down at the 1 hour mark.  Overall, this cigar continued my love hate relationship  with Alec Bradley.  Great flavors that are constantly plagued by burn issues.  This one didn't have as many as other cigars from Alec Bradley that I have smoked but it there was a noticeable construction issue.  I enjoyed the cinnamon and roasted coffee notes and the change to the generic dark noted sweet tobacco was nice.  I would definitely smoke another one.
