Punch Diablo Scamp

Tonight we have the Punch Diablo Scamp.  This deep dark brown cigar comes in at 6.1 X 50.  It has no visible veins or seems and has a very toothy wrapper.  After lighting,  the draw is perfect producing large amounts of smoke.  The cigar is bold right from the start.  It kicks off with a huge black pepper taste and tingle and heat sensation, especially through the retro-hale.  On the finish there is some sweet earth and nothing else but the black pepper.  The finish flavor stay on the palate long into the next draw.  The body is at a medium to full.  The burn was slightly wavy but not an issue and did not require touch ups through the first inch.

Just over an inch down and a nice chocolate note is added in on the finish.  The draw is still straight black pepper kick.  The chocolate on the finish gels will with the sweet earth and remaining black pepper notes.  The body is still full.  The draw is still perfect.  The burn did require one minor touch up after the ash fell off at the 1 and a half inch mark.

With just over an inch to go the cigar started getting to warm to continue smoking.  I sat the cigar down for the last time at the 1 hour and 40 minute mark, which is a great smoke time for the size!  Overall, this cigar was BOLD, very full bodied and spicy.  The strength matched the body with this cigar as I did get quite a nicotine kick with this one.  The sweet earth and chocolate were a nice mix with the back pepper and even though the cigar was a complete powerhouse it was still very tasty.  I also loved that usually with such a powerhouse cigar the burn usually requires lots of touch ups.  This cigars construction was excellent.  It was not very complex but the flavors that it did have and the prefect construction made for a very enjoyable experience.
