Just over an inch has passed. The draw remains perfect. The draw flavors have remained unchanged. The finish continues a sweet earth, pepper, and toasty cedar notes. A coco powder flavor comes in every few puffs or so, followed by the other flavors dominating the rest of the finish. The body is still at a medium. the burn continues to be razor sharp.
Three inches down and not much has changed. The draw flavors are the same that they have been all the way through. The finish has seen the coco powder drop off. The sweet earth and toasted cedar with pepper are dominating. Every few puffs or so a leather note comes in at the end of the finish but does not stay long. The burn is still razor sharp and the body is at a medium plus. The black pepper through the nose on the retro-hale is getting a bit stronger and is a nice compliment to the overall flavors.
With just over two inches left i sat the cigar down for the last time at the 1 hour and 25 minute mark. Overall this cigar had a classic maduro profile with some good black pepper and toasty cedar mixed in. It was very enjoyable and I will be looking to smoke more in the future.
Thanks to J.C. Newman Cigar Company for the sample.
