Perla Del Mar Maduro Toro

Today we have the Perla Del Mar Maduro Toro.  This cigar has a dark brown wrapper with a few visible veins and seems.  The cigar is very rustic looking.  Measurements are currently unknown, but I believe it's somewhere in the 6 X 52 range. The cigar is slightly boxed pressed. After lighting, the draw is absolutely perfect producing huge smoke output with just the right amount of resistance. The cigar starts off with some pepper and earth on the draw, the pepper is very intense through the retro-hale.  The finish starts off with more earth and pepper and adds in some toasty cedar.  After a few more puffs some sweetness during the finish flavors comes in.  The body is at a medium and the flavors are staying on the palate long into the next draw.  The burn is razor sharp to start things off.

Just over an inch has passed.  The draw remains perfect.  The draw flavors have remained unchanged.  The finish continues a sweet earth, pepper, and toasty cedar notes.  A coco powder flavor comes in every few puffs or so, followed by the other flavors dominating the rest of the finish.  The body is still at a medium.  the burn continues to be razor sharp.

Three inches down and not much has changed. The draw flavors are the same that they have been all the way through.  The finish has seen the coco powder drop off.  The sweet earth and toasted cedar with pepper are dominating.  Every few puffs or so a leather note comes in at the end of the finish but does not stay long.  The burn is still razor sharp and the body is at a medium plus.  The black pepper through the nose on the retro-hale is getting a bit stronger and is a nice compliment to the overall flavors.

With just over two inches left i sat the cigar down for the last time at the 1 hour and 25 minute mark.  Overall this cigar had a classic maduro profile with some good black pepper and toasty cedar mixed in.  It was very enjoyable and I will be looking to smoke more in the future.
