Kristoff Ligero Criollo in Robusto

Tonight we have the Kristoff Ligero Criollo in Robusto. It comes in at 5 1/2 X 54. It has a oily dark brown wrapper with a few veins and invisible seems. It has a closed foot on the end and a pigtail cap. At first light, the draw is  a bit firm.  There is some nice spice and cedar on the draw. The finish is a black pepper spice and some earth notes. The body is at a medium and the finish flavors stay on the palate till the next draw. The burn is slightly wavy, but isn't an issue so far. The draw stayed firm through the first inch but was producing adequate smoke output.

Two inches down and some flavor changes are starting to happen.  On the draw the black pepper and cedar are still present. The cedar is now slightly sweet and leaves an oily feel in the mouth and on my lips. The finish is a earthy cinnamon and nutmeg note that fades fairly quickly and is replaced by the black pepper zing and flavor. The body is up to a medium to full. The burn has evened out and is now fairly even. The draw is still firm.

Two and a half inches down and some transitions in the finish are taking place. The draw flavors remain unchanged. The finish is a black pepper flavor and zing with a leather note that is the dominating flavor. A light coffee note comes in and out as well but the black pepper and leather overtake it in the end. The body is now at a solid full. Some medium strength has come into play as well, giving me a slight buzz. The draw has now opened up and is producing great smoke output and the burn is still fairly even.

With two inches left the cigar has gone warm and bitter on the draw and finish. I sat the cigar down for the last time at the one hour and five minute mark. A big thanks goes out to Anthony of  Cigarscity.com for supplying me with this sample for review!    Check them out   for all your cigar and cigar accessory needs!
