Two and a half inches down and some minor changes have occurred. The draw still has the nice deep earth and black pepper. The retro-hale continues the sweetness with earth and substantial black pepper, The finish has the toasty sweet earth, black pepper, and light roast coffee. Every few puffs a bitter tobacco note comes in that washes out some of the other tasty flavors. Luckily, this only lasts for a little while and the flavors go back to the norm's I described in the other updates. The body is still medium but is starting to approach full as the flavors are staying on the palate long into the next draw. The burn has been perfect but hasn't been any issue.
With just over an inch to go I sat the cigar down for the last time when the bitter tobacco note started to creep back in and wash out all the other tasty flavors. Overall smoke time was 55 minutes, which is a fair amount of time for a robusto. The flavors in this cigar were tasty, the sweet earth and light roast coffee were a great combo. Unfortunately, the biter tobacco note that crept in a few times hurt the overall score on this cigar. The flavors were not overly complex but where tasty and substantial enough to keep my attention. Overall, it was a very nice smoke for just under $6!
