Protocol Themis Corona Gorda

Today we have the Protocol Themis Corona Gorda.  This light tan cigar has no visible veins or seems and comes in at 5 5/8 X 46.  After lighting, the is a good amount of black pepper on the draw, especially through the retro-hale.  The finish is a cream flavor with cedar and earth.  The body is at a medium, as the flavors tend to stay on the palate till the next draw.  The burn through the first inch and a half is razor sharp.

Just over two inches down and the draw and finish flavor have stayed very consistent.  The only difference is that every now and then some black coffee notes comes in on the finish.  Also, every now and then some leather comes in on the draw through the retro-hale, which is a nice addition to the black pepper that is still fairly heavy.  The body is still medium.  The burn remains razor sharp.

With just over an inch left the cigar now just has some black pepper, and burned leather flavor going on.  I sat the cigar down for the last time at the 55 minute mark.  Overall, the flavors in this cigar were very tasty and it had just enough body and depth to keep me interested.  I've had some good Connecticut's this year and this one ranks near the top.  Be sure to pick up a five pack of this one!
