Padron 1926 No.9 Maduro

Today we have the Padron 1926 No.9 in Maduro.  This cigar has a dark brown and is boxed pressed.  It has a few visible veins and invisible seems.  It comes in at 5 1/2 X 56. At first light the draw is slightly snug but is putting out a  good amount of smoke.  The draw has some black pepper flavor and tingle sensation(especially through the nose) with some cedar.  The finish has a creamy earth followed by more cedar and pepper to round it out.  The finish stays on the palate till the next draw and is at a medium to full in body.  The burn through the first inch is slightly wavy but not a problem.

A half inch down and the draw has opened up considerbly, now producing even larger amounts of smoke.  The draw still has the black pepepr flavor and tingle sensation along with a creamy cedar.  The finish has a dark chocolate note followed by earth and more cedar.  The black pepper flavor comes in and out and is a good spicy compliment to the dark chocolate.  The body is still and a medium to full and the flavors continue to stay on the palate till the next draw.  The burn has evened out and is now razor sharp.

Two inches down and the draw is still prodcuing huge amounts of smoke.  The draw has the spicy black pepepr flavor and tingle sensation.  The finish has changed slightly.  The dark chocolate note is still there, acompanied by a earthiness and a creamy cedar.  Every few a dark raosted coffee dominates the other flavors and is the main flavor on the finish.  Every now and then the dark roast coffe and the dark chocolate combine for an espresso flavor.  The flavors have a creaminess and leave a film coating on the palate.  The body is now at a full and the flavors linger on the palate.  The burn is still preforming perfectly and things could not be going any better.

With two inches left the draw is still prodcuing good smoke output.  The draw flavors have changed.  The black pepper flavor and tingle sensation have come way up and dominates the draw.  The finish is the cofffee, earth, and dark chocolate.  After a few more puffs a bold leather flavors comes in and dominates the other flavors.  The other flavors are there on the finish, but are muted by the leather.  The body is still at a full and a mild amount of strength is starting to show up as well.  The burn has gone slighlty wavy again but is not an issue.

With around an inch left the flavors have all beein washed out by a chard tobacco and leather note.  I sat the cigar down for the last time at the 1 hour and 48 minute mark.  This cigar was amazing.  It had desert like flavors and a tone of complexity.  The price on these are high but after smoking it I now understand why.  The flavor profile is uniquie and bold.  I recomend this cigar for anyone who has something to celebrate with a fine cigar.  However, this is not a cigar for the "beginner".  You have to build up your palate to be able to experince a cigar of this magnitude.
