Gilberto Oliva Reserva Blanc Churchill

Tonight we have the Gilberto Oliva Reserva Blanc.  This light tan cigar has no visible veins or seems and looks beautiful.  It comes in at 7 X 50. After lighting, the draw is slightly firm requiring a double puff to get adequate smoke output.  The draw has some cedar and a light earthiness.  The finish has a faint creamy cedar.  The flavors leave the palate fairly quickly and the cigar is at a mild body.  The burn through the first inch has been razor sharp.

Just over an inch in and some slight changes take place.  The draw has opened up a bit and is almost normal, still requiring more effort than most to get good smoke output.  The draw has now added a faint black pepper flavor and tingle sensation along with the earthiness.  The finish still has the creamy cedar and earthiness.  The main flavor that lingers on the palate is a pistachio flavor.  It combines nicely with the creamy cedar and earth.  The retro-hale brings out more of the black pepper flavor and tingle sensation as well as the earthiness.  The body is up to a mild to medium.  The burn remains razor sharp.

With just over an inch and a half to go nothing has changed.  The cigar is starting to get to warm for my liking and I sat it down for the last time at the 1 hour and 22 minute mark.  Altogether, this cigar was a pretty nice, easy going, and easy to enjoy.  It burned well and featured great construction.  I would recommend this cigar to anyone looking for a morning Connecticut cigar that has more body than your average Connecticut.
