Davidoff Aniversario 50 Special 'R'

Today we have the Davidoff Aniversario 50 Special R.  This cigar has a light tan wrapper with no visible veins or seems and is flawless in appearance.  It comes in at 5 X 50.  After lighting, the draw is perfect giving off and incredible amount of smoke.  The draw has a potent and deep black pepper.  The retro-hale continues with the punishing black pepper.  The finish has the same black pepper, a grassy note, earth, and dry cedar.  The burn through the first inch is razor sharp.  The body is at a mild to medium.

Two inches down and absolutely nothing has changed.  The flavors have stayed the exact same on the draw and finish.  The only thing that is different is the flavors are slightly more intense then after the first light experience.  So far the cigar is fairy typical to most Connecticut cigars I have smoked in the past. The body is up to a medium.  The draw and burn remain perfect.

With an inch left the cigar is starting to get warm and harsh.  All that remain are chard tobacco and grass note.  I sat the cigar down for the last time at the 52 minute mark.  Overall, the cigar had great construction, excellent draw, and excellent burn.  However, the flavors were plain and at times not the most appetizing.  For $20 dollars per cigar I was hoping for a more flavorful cigar with a bit more pizazz.  I think maybe a little more time in the humidor may help.  I will visit this cigar again somewhere down the line...maybe a few years down the line.
