Just over an inch and a half in the cigar starts to come alive. The black pepper on the retro-hale is now up to a full in intensity. The draw has some black pepper and creamy earth. The finish has the creamy earth and a nice leather note. The entire experience is being accompanied by a warm and chewy heat sensation. Its the kind of heat you feel from a spicy pepper. Its not overwhelming like taking a bite of raw jalapeno but still is very spicy! The burn did require a minor touch up. The body is at full. The strength is at a medium to full as well as I am becoming a little sweaty and jittery. This cigar is packing quite a punch!
Four inches in and I'm starting to wish I had a bigger lunch. I'm quite jittery and overcome by the strength. The body is still at a full. The flavors remain the same from the last update with a few additions. A coco note is accompanying the creamy earth and leather. The spicy note that is producing a chewy heat sensation on the palate is intensifying as well. The strength has increased to full. The burn has required a few more minor touch ups.
With just over an inch and a half to go I sat the cigar down for the last time at the 1 hour and 38 minute mark. This cigar could have been smoked for another 10 to 15 minutes but the strength made me wave a white flag a tad early! Overall, I loved the flavor profile. The spicy heat, the creamy coco and earth, and leather flavors were a very unique and tasty combination. But overall the strength just overpowered the experience. I'm thinking I will try this cigar again, maybe after a large Thanksgiving dinner!
