An inch and a half in and some different flavor start to mix in on the finish. The draw remains slightly snug but never presents a major issue. The draw flavors remain the same as the first update, with the black pepper, cedar, and earth. The retro-hale sees the black pepper intensity through the nose dissipate slightly. The cedar is still their at the beginning of the finish flavors. The earth has become sweet and is transitioning into a roast coffee note. The last remaining finish flavor is the sweet earth and a new leather note that has come in. The finish flavor are now staying on the palate longer and the body is now medium to full. The burn remains razor sharp.
Just over an inch left and the cigar is starting to get warm and mushy. The only flavors that remain are the sweet earth and a new chard tobacco note. I sat the cigar down for the last time at the 1 hour 18 minute mark which is a good time for a toro size cigar. Overall, it was a fairly tasty cigar with some complexity and great construction. It doesn't quite have the WOW factor that the previous years Mule Kicks have had. But overall, still a tasty cigar as most Crowned Heads offerings are.
