Crowned Heads: The Angels Anvil TAA 2014

Today we have this 7 1/8 X 50 Churchill cigar. It has a medium brown wrapper with a few visible veins and invisible seems. At fist light, there is some slight black pepper notes and some sweet cedar on the draw. The finish is a baking spice note with some more cedar and a slightly sweet vanilla flavor.  Every draw has a musty, well aged tobacco flavor and is very smooth. The flavors leave the palate fairly quickly and is at a mild to medium in body. The draw is perfect, producing large amounts of smoke. The burn through the first inch is flawless.

Two inches in and some transitions take place. The draw has some black pepper zing. The finish is a earth and leather combination that is accompanied by some citrus on the tail end.  Every few puffs the citrus comes way up and dominates all the other finish flavors. Sometimes a slight bit of coco makes its way in as well but usually fades quickly. A cedar and some sweetness is always there in the background, as well as the musty "aged tobacco" characteristic. All the flavors are smooth and very delicious. The body is at a solid medium and the burn and draw remain excellent.

Four inches in and all the flavors are now mixing together. The sweet cedar and vanilla with a slight bit of earth and pepper are on the draw. The finish changes every few puffs between the leather with some citrus and then back to  the baking spice. The underlying sweetness and aged musty flavor is present as well. The body has never moved from medium. The draw and burn. Are still excellent.

With nearly two inches to go the flavors are starting to get warm and the cigar is a bit mushy. I sat it down for the last time at the 1 hour and 38 minute mark. This is a limited cigar. It can be hard to find but is definitely worth the search! This was an amazing medium bodied cigar. Fairly complex, but not overpowering.
