La Gran Llave Maduro Robusto

Today we have the La Gran Llave Maduro Robusto.  This medium brown trunk pressed cigar has no visible veins or seems and is one good looking cigar.  It comes in at 5 X 54.  After lighting, the draw is completely loose and is producing an insane amount of smoke output.  I'll have to watch this one when taking a draw so I don't over heat it.  The draw has a earth and black pepper flavor and tingle sensation.  The black pepper burn through the nose is eye watering and intense.  The flavors on the finish are sweet earth, black pepper, and cedar.  The body is at a medium to full.  The burn is wavy through the first inch and may require a touch up.

Just under an inch down and a flavor change happens.  The draw continues to be open.  Its difficult to take a draw and not over heat the cigar.  The draw still has the black pepper flavor and tingle.  The burn through the retro hale is still heavy.  The finish has added a light coffee and coco flavor to the earth and cedar.  The body is still at a medium to full.  The burn did require a touch up and remains slightly wavy.

With just over an inch left the cigar got very warm and all that remained was a chard tobacco flavor.  I sat the cigar down in the ashtray for the last time at the 42 minute mark.  I believe the open draw was to blame for the short smoke time and the flavors being mute overall.  I would recommend this cigar but be warned that you really have to pace yourself with the draw.
