Two inches down an some flavor shifts start to happen. The black pepper flavor and burn through the retro hale is still strong. The draw also has the black pepper flavor and sweet cedar comes in as well. The finish flavors have added a leather and espresso note. The leather leaves fairly quickly and then the espresso flavor takes over. The flavors stay on the palate till the next draw. The body is up to a medium to full. The burn remains wavy but not an issue.
Four inches down the cigar and one slight change has happened. The black pepper flavor and burn has died down slightly. The draw has some sweet earth and cedar. The finish now has seen the leather being the dominating note with the espresso flavor dying down. A sweet BBQ like smokiness has come in at the tail end of the finish and is the remaining flavor on the palate till the next draw. Its not as strong as the fire cured tobacco is. But is still a very noticeable BBQ note. The cigar is now at a solid full body. The burn is still wavy but hasn't required any touch ups.
At the 2 hour mark, the cigar got warm and mushy and I sat it down for the last time. Overall, this was a tasty cigar with some unique transitions. The flavor combination of espresso, leather, and BBQ is a unique combo that I have never experienced in any other cigar. I recommend this cigar to the veteran cigar lover looking for a full bodied tasty smoke that is different from most cigars on the market today.
