Protocol Probable Cause Churchill

Today we have the Protocol Probable Cause Churchill.  This dark brown cigar has no visible veins or seems.  Its very aesthetically pleasing and has a bit of trunk press to it.  It comes in at 6 1/2 X 48.  After lighting the draw is great, producing large amounts of smoke output.  The draw flavors have a nice light coco nib flavor, with a gritty sweet earthiness.  The retro-hale sees the same flavors with some black pepper added in.  The pepper burn through the nose is medium in intensity.  The finish continues the sweet gritty earth and the light coco nib.  The flavors stay on the palate till the next draw.  The cigar so far is a medium to full body.  The burn hasn't been razor sharp but hasn't required a touch up.

Three inches down, the flavors stayed the exact same till this point.  The light coco nib and sweet earthiness has combined for a bold espresso note.  The body of the cigar has kicked up slightly and is up to a mild to medium.  The burn has required a couple touch up's but nothing major.  Every few puffs and the espresso is put into the back ground by a touch of leather and black pepper notes.  Every few puffs the espresso battles with the leather and black pepper for finish dominance.  But in the end the espresso wins more than half the time.

At the 1 hour and 33 minute mark I sat the cigar down for the last time.  A chard earth and black pepper flavor was all the remained.  I did have to give a few more touch ups throughout but still nothing major, the overall construction was above average.  Overall, this cigar had nice flavors.  I loved the coco nib for the first half.  The leather, black pepper, and espresso were a nice change of pace for the last half.  Track them down, they are pretty tasty!
