Umbagog Toro Toro by Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust

Today we have the Umbagog Toro Toro by Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust.  This cigar has a medium dark brown wrapper with a few visible veins and seems.  Its very toothy in appearance.  It comes in at 6 X 52.  After lighting, the draw is slightly snug and the smoke out put isn't as much as I would prefer it to be.  The draw has some black pepper spice and earth.  The pepper intensity is at a medium heat through the retro hale. The finish continues the black pepper, and earth.  The earthiness is getting sweeter.  Every few puffs a leather note comes in on the finish and overshadows the other notes.  The entire flavor profile through the first inch has been bitter.  Hopefully that will subside.  The draw still remains snug.  The burn so far has been good, not razor sharp but not needing any attention.  The body is at a medium

Two inches down and the flavor profile has shifted slightly.  The sweet earthiness and pepper has stayed the exact same.  The leather still flashes in and out on the finish from time to time.  A coco nib and light coffee mix in as well.  The entire experience is still bitter.  It isn't as bitter as it was through the first inch but its still there.  The burn did require a small touch up.  The draw has opened up slightly but still is not putting out as much smoke out put as I normally like.  The body is up a tick to medium to full.

With just over an inch to go a sweet cashew and scorched tobacco flavor has taken over.  The cigar is starting to get hot and I sat the cigar down for the last time at the 1 hour and 28 minute mark.  The cigar had some nice transitions but the snug draw and bitterness were a big detractor for me.  I will hunt this cigar down and give it another shot!
